语法点 Grammar Points
【语法点 1】 除了…(外/之外/以外)，…都
The structure "除了……都" indicates that except the special part being mentioned in the "除了" clause, all the others always behave or happen in a similar way. The adverb "都" is to emphasize consistency. 外, 之外 or 以外 can be used with 除了 in the clause.
Chúle zhège, wǒ shénme dōu bùxiǎng yào.
除了这个，我什么都不想要。I want nothing except this.
Chúle chúfáng, bié de fángjiān dōu hěn ānjìng.
除了厨房，别的房间都很安静。It's quiet everywhere except in the kitchen.
Chúle xīngqīyī wài, túshūguǎn měitiān dū kāifàng.
除了星期一外，图书馆每天都开放。The library is open every day except Monday.
Chúle wǒ yǐwài, dàjiā dōu tīng dǒng le.
除了我以外，大家都听懂了。Everyone understands except me.
【语法点 2】 除了…，…还
The structure "除了……还" indicates that besides the special part being mentioned in the "除了" clause, something else is also included. 外, 之外 or 以外 can be used with 除了 in the clause.

The structure "除了……也" expresses "besides; in addition to".

【语法点 4】 什么 + Noun (什么: any/anything)
什么 can be used as a demonstrative pronoun to refer to indefinite people or things, meaning "any, anything".

【语法点 5】 Subject + Adjective + 极了
As a degree complement, 极了 comes after adjective to express an extremely high degree.
