春望
杜甫国破山河在,城春草木深。
感时花溅泪,恨别鸟惊心。
烽火连三月,家书抵万金。
白头搔更短,浑欲不胜簪。
A Glance in Spring
by Du Fu (712-770 AD)In this war-torn country still the river runs and the mountain stands,
The city of Chang'an is over grown by weeds in spring.
Sorrowed by what I see I drop tears on the blooming flowers,
Ached for the departing my heart trembles at the chirps of birds.
The beacons have been lit for three months,
A letter from home is worth ten thousand of gold.
The grey hairs become thiner and thiner,
they can barely hold the hairpin anymore.
