闻官军收河南河北
杜甫剑外忽传收蓟北，初闻涕泪满衣裳。
却看妻子愁何在？漫卷诗书喜欲狂。
白日放歌须纵酒，青春作伴好还乡。
即从巴峡穿巫峡，便下襄阳向洛阳。
On the News of Imperial Army's Recapture of Henan and Hebei
by Du Fu (712-770 AD)The north of Ji County was recaptured, people from outside of Jianmen Pass were saying,
Tears wet the clothes when I heard the news.
I looked at my wife and her grief had gone,
Rolling up the poems and books she was going wild with joy.
To sing aloud in such a beautiful day we must drown ourselves in wines,
Accompanied by this enchanting radiant spring it is time to go home.
Sailing out of Ba gorge and through Wu gorge,
Passing the town of Xiangyang we are on our way to hometown Luoyang.
