咏柳
贺知章碧玉妆成一树高,
万条垂下绿丝绦。
不知细叶谁裁出,
二月春风似剪刀。
Ode to the Willow
by He Zhizhang (659-744 AD)Willow trees are dressed up with jade from head to toe,
Like tens of thousands silk ribbons drooping low.
I wonder such elegant leaves are trimmed by which clever hand,
The spring breezes of February are just like the scissors.
