Lu Zhaolin (卢照邻), a poet of early Tang dynasty. His dates of born and death were unknown. It was estimated to be around 635-689 AD. The first half of his life could be said glorified and high spirits. He became famous for his talent and was appreciated by some important figures in politics, including the emperor's uncle. His career went quite well for over ten years. The change of power in the imperial court marked the turn of his life. Lu Zhaolin was thrown into prison because the empress's nephew thought one of his poem was offensive. After released from prison, he was partially paralyzed due to illness and lived on assistance from his friends. Lu Zhaolin bought a small piece of land near Yin river (颖水) and built a tomb on the property for himself. He slept in it every day. After long time suffering, he bid a farewell to his family and relatives and drowned himself in the Yin river. He was only 40 at the time of his death.
